CVPD joins AIM-Net, a national network on AI-assisted multiscale imaging

Great news from our team! 🎉

The Computer Vision and Pattern Discovery (CVPD) group at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) is part of AIM-Net — AI-Assisted Multiscale Imaging Network for Cellular and Molecular Processes, a national research network funded in the Redes de Investigacion 2024 call of the Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovacion y Universidades (MICIU).

The official funding resolution for the call was published on 13 May 2025, and the network formally started on 1 September 2025.

AIM-Net brings together leading Spanish groups working at the intersection of microscopy, quantitative biology, and artificial intelligence to address one of the field’s key challenges: integrating imaging data across scales, from molecules and cells to tissues, and across different microscopy modalities. By combining experimental and computational expertise, the network aims to develop AI-based strategies for data integration, interpretation, and modeling in bioimaging.

Within this initiative, the CVPD group contributes its expertise in bioimage analysis, computer vision, and deep learning. Our participation in AIM-Net strengthens collaborations with national partners and helps advance joint activities in research, training, open science, and community building around AI-driven multiscale imaging. 🚀

The network is funded under grant RED2024-153844-T, funded by MICIU/AEI/10.13039/501100011033.
